SCHOLARSHIPS from your County Farm Bureau

Carroll County

A scholarship is awarded annually to a student from Carroll County. Students must be attending a post secondary institute and pursuing an interest in agriculture (including forestry, aquiculture, environmental science or conservation). For application information contact the Carroll County Secretary, Anthony Lyon at 733-8683.


Cheshire County

An annual scholarship is available to Cheshire County Farm Bureau members or members of their immediate family. Preference will be given to students studying agriculture and to returning students. For application information contact the Cheshire County President, Beth Hodge at 336-7706 x 11.


Coös County

Scholarships are awarded annually to Coös County Farm Bureau members. The student's family must have been a NHFB member for the last three years. Scholarships are available to students graduating from any of the county's high schools and furthering their education in agriculture. For application information contact the Coös County President, Joyce Brady at 922-3305.


Grafton County

Scholarship(s) are awarded annually to a Grafton County resident. Students must have an agricultural background and be pursuing a career in an agricultural related industry. For application information contact the Grafton County Secretary, Lora Goss at 989-5900.


Hillsborough County

The Ben Holt Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to qualifying students from Hillsborough County. The scholarship is given to a graduating high school senior, undergraduate or continuing education student majoring in agriculture (including pre-veterinary). Preference is given to Farm Bureau members. For application information contact the Hillsborough County President, Sean Trombly at 673-4725.


Merrimack County

The Trudy Gay Memorial Scholarship and the "Chip" McNamara Memorial Scholarship are awarded annually. Criteria and application are available here or by contacting the Merrimack County Secretary, Barbara Colby

Rockingham County

A scholarship is awarded annually to Rockingham County students with an interest in studies related to agriculture.

Strafford County

A scholarship is awarded annually. For application information contact the Strafford County Secretary Ruth Scruton at 332-5786.


Sullivan County

A scholarship is awarded annually to graduating seniors who are Sullivan County Farm Bureau members or members of their immediate family (usually given to students returning for a second term). Investing in First Pioneer's Future
Students pursuing post secondary education must demonstrate through their experience, academic program of study, extracurricular activities and career interest statement, significant progress toward and a clear intention for a career in production agriculture, agribusiness, forestry or commercial fishing at a college within First Pioneer's six-state service area.

Abbie Sargent Memorial Scholarship
Applicants must be a resident of New Hampshire, a graduate of an approved public/private high school with average or better grades. Additionally, they must demonstrate acceptance of responsibility and financial need. Applicants must be a full or part-time student at an institute of higher learning. Preference will be given to those enrolled in an agriculture related study.

FFA
The National FFA Organization awards approximately $2 million scholarships each year. Scholarships are awarded to FFA members and non-members seeking a wide variety of career goals and higher education.

 

The NH Charitable Foundation Student Aid Program
The Foundation administers over 250 separate funds and offers the largest source of independent student aid in New Hampshire. The funds have been established by individuals, families, organizations and businesses to support education.

 

The Bruce Clement Post Secondary Education Scholarship
- Sheep & Wool Growers' Association
-$1,000 Scholarship
Eligibility: Open to any NH resident who has:
•Successfully completed at least one year at a post secondary education institution.
•Not received this scholarship in the past.
•An affiliation with sheep through 4-H, FFA, Young Farmers, NH Sheep and Wool Growers' Association, or is majoring in a field that will benefit the sheep industry.

Skrungloo Farm,Inc.-Student Scholarship
Skrungloo Farm, Inc. is a private foundation established in 1986, in order to provide direct aid, assistance, and/or services, to the residents of, in order of priority, Sandwich, Center Harbor, Moultonboro, Carroll County, Belknap County, and then the entire state of New Hampshire. This includes providing scholarships for individual residents to educate and better themselves in order to build a stronger community.
Applicants must be a legal resident of the US and reside in the state of New Hampshire. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, academic merit and other nonacademic factors such as community service, school activities and work experience.
